Promotion activities and public-relation Free circulation of goods The main objective of the EEC Treaty was to remove economic barriers between Member States to provide the Treaty establishing a Common Market based on the four freedoms: the free movement of goods, persons, services and capitals. Free circulation of goods (merchandises) from a Member State in another EU Member State assumes the harmonization of customs duty systems and common rules on health, consumer protection and environmental protection, plus the elimination of all obstacles to trade. With the conclusion on 1.01.1993, the process of making the Internal Market, the objective of free movement of goods has been largely achieved, some regulations still persists off or transitory in nature. Free movement of persons Employed persons and those independent of the EU Member States have the right to live and work in any Member State, benefiting from the social advantages of the country of residence under the same conditions as nationals of those countries without any discrimination based on nationality. Non-discrimination principle implies the right of any citizen of the European Union to enter the territory of another Member State without being controlled. Free movement of services The right to provide free services anywhere in the space community is a consequence of the internal market. It enables citizens of the European Union to carry out services beyond the borders of their own countries without any restrictions based on nationality, through the provision of services understands any benefit of this kind supplied in an independent professional activities Free movement of capital By this we mean the movement of capital between countries whose national currencies are different. Taking into account the consequences that such a phenomenon can have on the balance of payments and monetary stability of a country, the movement of capital between countries is usually subject to restrictions. In 1988, the Council of Ministers (now the EU) has decided that capital movements between Member States of the European Community should be fully liberalized until 1.07.1990. |
